ENG+Bullish engulfing. An up candle whose body completely covers the previous down candle's body — buyers overwhelmed the bar before.
ENG−Bearish engulfing. A down candle whose body completely covers the previous up candle's body — sellers overwhelmed the bar before.
HAMHammer. A lower wick at least twice the body and little or no upper wick — sellers pushed the price down during the bar and buyers pushed it back.
STARShooting star. An upper wick at least twice the body and little or no lower wick — buyers pushed the price up and sellers pushed it back.
PIN+Bullish pin bar. Two-thirds or more of the candle is lower wick, with a small body — lower prices were tried and rejected.
PIN−Bearish pin bar. Two-thirds or more of the candle is upper wick, with a small body — higher prices were tried and rejected.
DOJIDoji. Open and close almost the same (the body is under a tenth of the range) — indecision, no direction.
IBInside bar. The whole candle sits inside the previous candle's range — the market paused and contracted.
·LAt a level. Added when the candle printed at a support or resistance line: its low within 0.75% of a support for an up pattern, its high within 0.75% of a resistance for a down one (a doji or inside bar can be at either). Drawn bigger. A shape at a level is evidence; the same shape mid-range is noise — only ·L patterns feed the Level Rejection setup.
